Holland Park

Until 1830s the area where Holland Park is located was a country village of market gardens and mansions. Now it is considered a prime location in central London with beautiful townhouses and lovely restaurants in the neighborhood. The park itself is not too far away from the infamous Portobello Market up north and High Street Kensington in the south. A little further to the east is Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.
Holland Park was part of Holland House, parts of which are now used as a cafe, function room and sports desk.

The park is wonderful because it has so many different features. In the northern part you have semi-wild woodland. In the southern part, there are cafes and sports grounds, where you can play tennis and cricket, a garden filled with tulips and a giant chess set and in the middle there is a beautiful Japanese Kyoto Garden.
It is very busy at the weekends, especially in the summer when friends and families organize picnics.
One of the best things is that it is a home to many peacocks who roam freely around the park.
